James’s role encompasses two fundamental elements of both business development and general business management responsibilities.

Under the business development umbrella James is focused on building long term relationships with organizations, commercial agents, property developers and investors in order to become their first port of call and for GCL to become their preferred supplier. James drives a team at GCL that strives to create solutions to meet both client’s needs and budget. His job is to also ensure the client remains entirely satisfied with the information and service they receive.

James’s general management responsibilities include (but are not limited to) working with both the design and project management teams to improve communication, processes and procedures. All with the express aim of continuously improving the service given to our clients.

James joined GCL from Marlin Group, a property development firm based in Auckland. There he worked in a sales, leasing and acquisitions capacity from 2003-2005 working on a wide variety of development projects.

James has also worked for 3M NZ Ltd in production management and as a financial analyst in London, both for a period of three years. It was during this time James gained a clear understanding of financial systems and statements while also learning the importance of creating customer satisfaction and striving for continuous improvement in both processes and procedures.
