Gaze Commercial was invited by Watercare Services to work with them to design and project manage their new headquarters in Newmarket in 2006. Watercare Services moved into the former Auckland Electric Power Board building, an iconic location that now sits in the heart of a new Westfield shopping development called ‘Nuffield Street’. Gaze Commercial created a design that merges the two office floors with a feature staircase descending below a magnificent suspended ceiling illuminated by more than 650 metres of Perspex tubes. The design focuses on an open and interactive workspace covering 3000 square meters for the 200 staff. Gaze Commercial has developed the concepts and designs, managed the building consent requirements, tendered the project, and is managing the contractors on site to achieve the design brief and completion date.
