Hard and Soft Fit Out

Auckland Chamber of Commerce approached Gaze Commercial to undertake the design and fit out of both the Chamber tenancies and the refurbishment of the entire building to attract new tenants. The logistics of the fit out needed to be carefully planned, as the project involved existing tenancies migrating through the building into both temporary accommodation and then back into their new space.

The heavily partitioned offices were demolished to make way for open plan on all floors and to take advantage of the mezzanine floors on level three, partitioning was kept to a minimum to create a double height space which can now be fully appreciated. The lift lobby on the ground floor was rather unusual, as previously, staff and visitors found themselves face to face with the back of the lifts on entering through the front door. Gaze designed and fitted a new glazed façade and canopy to the building, with doors to either side, providing direction through the space. New lighting and finishes open up the lobby and sharp, clean lines provide a contemporary lobby area.
